A simple stool with infinite possibilities...
Originally, this stool was designed for a youth summer camp. Playing with the prototype in the shop, we found it made a great side table and foot rest as well. The lounge chair-stool combination functions like a modular chaise lounge. What could be more convenient?
Coming up next from the Chairigami lab: a standing desk stool.
What does it take to produce and ship 2000 stools to California?
Chairigami's largest order to date is on it's way to our friends at
Steve and Kate's Camp. To fill such a large order, we explored die cutting our furniture for the first time.
Zach worked tirelessly with our die cutters to ensure the quality of the furniture edges was consistent and the slots fit together tightly. After several prototypes, we hit on a production method that worked.
Overseen by Zach, the order was carefully packaged and loaded up. We can't wait to see how the kids at Steve and Kate's Camps will like our cardboard furniture! (Pictures of summer cardboard labs to come)
Never fear, Chairigami is still here!

I'm an artist and a compulsive organizer. I've probably tried out every kind of craft project out there and am an expert at mcgyver-ing together solutions for day-to-day living challenges. I also have a penchant for run-on sentences.
Together, we hope to bring you a series of fun, new store events. Stay tuned!
Connecticut renowned doctor Jennifer Ongchin came to chairigami with a mission to spice up her office. After much deliberation and design, the sunray bench was born. It's orange shellac stripes are so ticklish even Jennifer couldn't resist the urge to laugh out loud. After all, everyone needs a little cardboard medicine sometimes. The sunray bench features a new, two-tone shellac technique that chairigami now offers.

The Chairigami cardboard rocket ship. For days when you want to leave earth far far behind. A secret place, a special nook, a refuge from the everyday, a view from above. And, best of all, blast-offs are zero emissions. The rocket ship easily assembles and dissembles, making it the largest portable playhouse on the planet... well, as least until you're soaring through space. The Chairigami Rocket Ship was commissioned by The Dutchess Day School for their annual book fair.
