Local Motors attended the 2016 Interdrone Conference in Las Vegas this year to promote their Airbus Cargo Drone Challenge, a competition designed to generate new solutions to an age old problem. Booth design might not be a problem as old as cargo transport, but Local Motors still wanted to bring creativity and fresh thinking to the process. Together we designed a large space to show off their project and draw in conference attendees.
Working on a tight timeline, we quickly developed a booth layout and a logistics plan. The final design incorporated fifty pieces of furniture, including concept designs for a Rocking Chair and Chaise Lounge. The logistics strategy included two phases of shipping, separate addresses for delivery, and logistical heroics from the Local Motors team. The process went smoothly since both of our teams are used to short turn around times.
In the end, we beat our manufacturing deadline and got everything delivered in one shipment to the show warehouse. The Local Motors team unloaded the furniture, accomplished their setup in just 90 minutes, and ran a great show. The whole process, start to finish, was a beautiful collaboration between two companies that value quick thinking, creative problem solving, and good design.
